With the Devote being its first dedicated gravel offering, on paper, it looks at though Liv has ensured the Devote will tick the boxes for both adventure focussed riders and those looking to race their next gravel epic. Liv says the ability for riders to choose their adventure, so to speak was a key consideration with its need steed. As a result, the Devote is compatible with mudguards and racks, while also scoring three water bottle mounts on all frame sizes, additionally, the Devote scores dropper post compatibility on all Advanced models in the range.

This dropper seatpost is somewhat of a gamechanger for Liv/Giant as it enabled users to select either a D-shaped seatpost or a 30.9mm dropper seatpost. A dropper seatpost is fitted as standard on the Devote Advanced 1 and forgoes the rubber wedge fitted to other Devote Advanced models to allow for the seatpost to fit.

Both carbon and aluminium framesets will be offered. Aluminium framesets make use of an ALUXX SL frameset paired with an “Advance grade composite” fork. Denoted by their “Advanced” moniker, carbon-framed options make use of a composite frame in addition to the fork. Both carbon and alloy models make use of flat-mount disc brakes as well as partially internal cable routing.

The geometry of the Devote is said to be “women’s specific” with a focus on stability and shock absorption. Scanning the geometry charts confirms this, with the Devote scoring a relatively slack 75.9mm trail figure while wheelbases range from 1013mm to 1022mm depending on the size.

For the contact points, the Devote makes use of a mixture of Giant and Liv branded parts with the previously mentioned D-Fuse seatpost featuring alongside the flared D-Fuse handlebar used on its Revolt stablemate. All bikes in the range also make use of Liv’s new endurance rider-friendly Approach saddle.

All Devote models ship set-up tubeless from the factory and are claimed to accept both 700c and 650b sized wheels. Tyre clearance is pegged at 45mm for 700c wheelsets, while riders using 650b hoops can fit tyres up to 50mm wide with some room to spare.
