Felt Bicycles

Jim Felt, the originator of Felt Bicycles, began his journey in the cycling world following a long stint as one of the leading motorbike mechanics in America. Gifted with the task of building a triathlon bike for one of his riders, this rare opportunity allowed Felt to combine his innovative designs and expertise into a project that would ultimately lead him to realise his dream of manufacturing bicycles.

The American company quickly developed a high performing, recognisable range of road and triathlon bicycles, highlighted by a major breakthrough for the brand when Paula Newby-Fraser rode a Felt bicycle to victory in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. A few years later, Felt partnered up with a number of recognised engineers of the bicycle industry and developed a complete range of bicycle offerings for cycling enthusiasts of all disciplines.

At the beginning of 2017, Felt was acquired by French ski company, Rossignol. The French outfit saw cycling as a natural extension of the business, which is largely focussed on winter & adventure sports and are aiming to enter the mountain bike market during 2018 with a range of Rossignol branded mountain bikes.

Pioneering a number of innovations and manufacturing techniques for the industry over the years thanks to its unique development process, Felt Bicycles has continued to place an emphasis on designing unique and innovative bicycles.

With a particular focus on developing bicycles in the wind tunnel, optimising efficiency at the prototype phase before the carbon fibre moulds are even cut, aerodynamic performance is a standout advantage across the aero range of Felt bicycles, with much of this technology trickling its way down throughout the range.
