Originally specialising in high performance, race-specific BMX bicycles, GT Bicycles is an iconic brand that today offer a complete range of mountain, road, kids bikes along with other specific models catering to a wide range of riders.
About the brand
Gary Turner established GT Bicycles in 1972 as a brand with a passion for designing race-orientated BMX frames. Turner’s vision was simple, “build the fastest, most durable and innovative BMX bike available on the market”. The brand rapidly gained popularity and became recognised as the most successful BMX brand of the era following several major race and market victories worldwide.
The next major milestone for the brand was the release of the ‘Triple Triangle’ frame design, where the seatstays flow past the seattube and onto the frame’s top tube. This once innovative design continues to be a recognisable feature on a number of GT bikes.
Today, GT is still a mainstay of the BMX market; however, the brand is equally as respected in the mountain bike world.
